Meritrust Credit Union is proud to name Heidi Coble, owner of Next Steps Corporate Wellness, LLC and triathlon trainer, as the 2017 Byron G. Stout IV Spotlight on Wellness Award recipient.
This award memorializes Meritrust’s beloved champion of wellness, Byron Stout, who passed away in June 2015. The Spotlight on Wellness Award recognizes one individual who inspires all areas of wellness in the workplace and in the community.
“Byron was passionate about living a full and well-balanced life and supporting the wellness goals of those around him,” says James Nastars, Meritrust President/CEO. “Our goal was to find an honoree who encourages and inspires others to pursue a healthy lifestyle and who exemplifies Byron’s enthusiasm for wellness.”
As VP of Human Resources, Mr. Stout led the course for and built Meritrust’s comprehensive employee wellness program, CU Well. The program includes gym discounts for employees and is a holistic approach designed to impact, empower and promote total wellness in every employee’s life—physically, financially, emotionally and within our communities.
Helping others change their lives
Coble’s business, Next Steps Corporate Wellness, LLC, promotes health, safety and well-being. She works with numerous companies to personalize wellness programs and increase employee participation.
In addition to owning her own wellness company, Heidi has completed triathlons across the globe. She has also coached triathlons at local YMCAs and started and coached the first Kansas collegiate team. Her passion for wellness prompted her to begin her journey of corporate wellness, where she began encouraging others to pursue their wellness goals and dreams. Coble inspires her clients and coworkers to live a healthy and holistic life, always encouraging and motivating her clients and students when coaching at her business and the gym.
“Heidi is an inspiration, a mentor and a positive example for hard work, determination and healthy lifestyles,” says Amy Butler, Coble’s nominator. “She inspires those she coaches every day.”
Not only is Heidi passionate about helping people improve their health, she loves that wellness and healthy lifestyle changes positively impact family members and friends. “Passing along healthy habits to your kids is one of the greatest gifts you can give them,” says Coble. “Thank you, Meritrust, for continuing the Byron G. Stout IV Spotlight on Wellness Award. I am humbled to win this award. It means so much to me.”
The Spotlight on Wellness award was presented to Coble at the 2017 Working Well Conference in late August.
